Our dry spell has ended and the rain has begun to fall! Since there will be plenty of stormy and misty weather to come, I thought we’d start with a low river photo and revisit the scene in a month or so. This was a beautiful day at the end of last week. Note especially the rocks visible under the water where it is shadowed by the trees. I don’t think we’ll see those for long!

About sherijkennedyriverside
Left brain, right brain, I can't decide. After many years of successful visual arts pursuits, I'm working on my other creative inclinations. Reaching inward and venturing outward as the Snoqualmie River flows onward past my doorstep and life runs freely through my being, I set pen to page to share what I perceive.
Sheri J. Kennedy grew up mostly a city-girl coasthopping from Seattle to rural Pennsylvania, Miami and back to Seattle. She currently resides on the banks of the Snoqualmie River in the scenic Cascade Mountain foothills town of North Bend, Washington USA. Her heart has found its home.
We had a good rain storm come through here two days ago. Zoey the Cool Cat does not like the sound of the rain on the skylight or coming through the downspouts outside. She’s such a scaredy cat………..lol
LOL! Poor Zoey! The sound of rain makes me sleep like a baby. When my alarm went off on this rainy morning, I thought the music was coming out of the computer I was working on in my dream, and I was trying to figure out how to make it shut up so I could keep typing. Finally came to enough to hit the snooze…
I like your shot of the low river volume here, especially the shadows on the left bank.
Thanks! The clear dry weather did make for great shadows and contrast shots.
Now we’re back to grey and soft edges.

Wonderful illustration of a dry spell.
My friend reblogged this. I once lived on the Southfork of the Snoqualmie River. It is rare to see it so low, although it would be low enough to see the rocks in the summer. Of course, it was still chest high. I ran from that damp, wet climate. Enjoy the Northwest, I know many people that do.
Yeah, it was really low this year. I love living on the Southfork, and I’m one of those strange folks that thrives in moisture. A bit of amphibian in me perhaps? Actually I just love green and rainstorms. I hope you found somewhere you love to be! Thanks for your comment.
