The elk were peeking through the trees as I took the riverwalk in my neighborhood this morning. What fun to see them so close to home!

Must be wonderful to live with such beauty all around. The one in the bottom photo seems ot be posing for the shot.
I was trying not to disturb them, but those were some of the last shots I took, and they all become aware of me. I wasn’t close enough to be threatening to them, but they got curious, so I moved on and let them be. It is kind of nice when they see you since they seem to look at the camera and pose.
And it does definitely lift my spirits to live in the beauty here, that’s one of the reasons I wanted to start a blog so I could share the feeling.
