I saw a pair of dippers on my walk today. And on the way back was rewarded with a close-up view of one of them.

Left brain, right brain, I can't decide. After many years of successful visual arts pursuits, I'm working on my other creative inclinations. Reaching inward and venturing outward as the Snoqualmie River flows onward past my doorstep and life runs freely through my being, I set pen to page to share what I perceive.
Sheri J. Kennedy grew up mostly a city-girl coasthopping from Seattle to rural Pennsylvania, Miami and back to Seattle. She currently resides on the banks of the Snoqualmie River in the scenic Cascade Mountain foothills town of North Bend, Washington USA. Her heart has found its home.
Nothin finer than watching a dipper in action.
I agree! They’re my favorite bird to watch, and since I love birds, that’s saying something.
Exactly. I love when I get to see them when I guide in Alaska because they are not as common here as lower latitudes. I am astonished when people are not amazed and giddy about songbirds that walk under water! BTW- I just put up a post about birding in Ecuador if you are interested.
I’m very interested and will check it out when I’m on break at work. I live on the river and see dippers often, but I never tired of them and my wonder at seeing them dive into the rapids remains.
Beautiful photos showing beautiful nature.
Thanks so much, Jerry!
You are very welcome Sheri.
