Breathing Space – May 28/12

You can also read a short tribute I wrote for Memorial Day while sitting at this spot, if you wish.

Standing Stone and Forget-Me-Nots. A walk in the rain.

About sherijkennedyriverside

Left brain, right brain, I can't decide. After many years of successful visual arts pursuits, I'm working on my other creative inclinations. For the past 8 years, writing has been my second full time job, and it's worth every sleepless night. Sheri J. Kennedy grew up mostly a city-girl coasthopping from Seattle to rural Pennsylvania, Miami and back to Seattle. She currently resides on the banks of the Snoqualmie River in the scenic Cascade Mountains. Her heart has found its home.

  1. I find cemeteries oddly fascinating. Maybe it’s knowing that all those people are part of our history, or maybe it’s the interesting writings on some of the headstone.

  2. I love reading headstones, and I love the way they patina over time. Today’s post, Breathing Space May 31/12 was taken from the vantage point at the local cemetary. It’s a really small one, but fairly old, and I had never actually gone there, though I pass it every day. What an awesome place. Totally quiet, but somehow a very full silence. I don’t know if it’s the history or the spirits of the ones there, or maybe the thoughts of the people still living who miss them, but I felt like I was not alone…in a really wonderful and rich way. The beauty of the clouds on the mountain was magnified by that feeling of depth and connection.
