Just Published my first Novel as an eBook

Many of you asked to know when this came out, so here it is…SECRET ORDER OF THE OVERWORLD

About sherijkennedyriverside

Left brain, right brain, I can't decide. After many years of successful visual arts pursuits, I'm working on my other creative inclinations. For the past 8 years, writing has been my second full time job, and it's worth every sleepless night. Sheri J. Kennedy grew up mostly a city-girl coasthopping from Seattle to rural Pennsylvania, Miami and back to Seattle. She currently resides on the banks of the Snoqualmie River in the scenic Cascade Mountains. Her heart has found its home.

  1. My dear friend, please receive my sincere congrats on your ebook! Thank you for sharing and informing. I would like to ask you something. This post inspired me to do the same with my books. Would you advise me the Lulu.com? or other site?

    • That would be wonderful if you do an ePublishing, Arlen! You could always try both sites and see which information you find the easiest to use. There is some specific format changes I had to do to create the eBook on LuLu. Not sure if that’s required on CreateSpace. You could create both places up until you want to request an ISBN. That locks you in to only one publisher unless you purchase one for yourself.

  2. After your answer I’ll start to create an account either in Lulu.com or in other site, which you’ll advise.

  3. Maybe in Amazon.com? What is the privilege of Lulu.com? It is my pleasure to consult with you on this issue.

  4. One more question. Is it FREE to create an eBook on Lulu.com? Or I have to pay.

    • Thanks, Arlen. Yes, it’s free to create. On LuLu.com you can request a free ISBN # and then they will list you on other sites like Amazon and Barnes & Noble. They publish in ePUB which can be read on NOOK and iPhones, Android tablets and computers.
I haven’t worked with Amazon (CreateSpace) but many authors in my group have. It seems very similar for e publishing, but they will create a Kindle version. I’m not sure if they market anywhere but Amazon, but it is the biggest market.
I do know that for print book publishing CreateSpace cost a little bit less for the author to get their own books. I chose LuLu partly because there’s been a backlash in small bookstores here where they won’t purchase books produced on CreateSpace due to a boycott of Amazon. I wanted to present my books for purchase there.
Bottom line, it needs to be your decision, my friend. I have found LuLu prompt with good quality, and since they will market to Amazon on my behalf when I indicate that I want that, I figure it gives me one more place (lulu) to market the book to be on their site too.
