Breathing Space – November 12/14

The winds have been blowing furiously for over 24 hours now. Combined with the freezing temperatures, they remind one why someone called winds ‘biting’. Everyone was scurrying from place to place and taking shelter as quickly as possible despite another clear and sunny day. I didn’t capture a new photo since I was busy hunkering down and covering every spot of exposed skin or turning it away from the sudden gusts. So I’m sharing another from a few days ago when the spectacular windows of light were breaking through the cloud layers. This was earlier in the afternoon before the light turned rosy toward sunset. I love it when the mountain gets stripes, and they change every couple minutes all afternoon.

Left brain, right brain, I can't decide. After many years of successful visual arts pursuits, I'm working on my other creative inclinations. For the past 8 years, writing has been my second full time job, and it's worth every sleepless night. Sheri J. Kennedy grew up mostly a city-girl coasthopping from Seattle to rural Pennsylvania, Miami and back to Seattle. She currently resides on the banks of the Snoqualmie River in the scenic Cascade Mountains. Her heart has found its home.
