Scene 05-19 All Together Now…

Scene 05-19The columbines are winding down, but they stayed in bloom long enough for the azalea bush to come into full bloom and for even some of the rhododendron blossoms to open. At one point I counted over 300 columbine flowers. The front yard is a burst of color!

    Beautiful … simply breathtaking.

    • Thanks Cee! I was having trouble getting columbines to spread in my front yard until the last couple years. Now I have more than most people would want, but I say the more the merrier! They certainly make my day…and I’m glad you enjoyed them too!

  2. You are right. These are really lovely!

    • Thanks so much, Clare! I found it hard to get a photo that really does them justice, but I thought it was fun to capture them along with the other blooming shrubs around them. It sure was colorful for a few weeks. Now they are seeding and I’ve been out there each day choosing which direction to shake out the seed cups that open, hoping to concentrate them even more in the area I’ll be surrounding with river rocks.
