Jan 5/16 is Hibernation

DSCN5467I felt as though I was sleepwalking today. Everything was a little fuzzy and mundane things appeared unusual to me. I was pulled out of a dream to get up, but I never got going. I love to dream. Mine are full of imaginative bizarre images, vivid adventures and intriguing puzzles that spark captivating ideas. I was an odd child in that I often asked if it was time to go to bed yet – anxious to sleep and dream…unless it was Lawrence Welk night, of course. Then I begged to stay up until the end to see the bubbles! I would be quite happy if winter was declared a time for hibernation.

I’m assigning each day a unique name this year, instead of the stale Monday-Friday, in hope of remembering that each day is to be savored. Today is: Hibernation.

About sherijkennedyriverside

Left brain, right brain, I can't decide. After many years of successful visual arts pursuits, I'm working on my other creative inclinations. For the past 8 years, writing has been my second full time job, and it's worth every sleepless night. Sheri J. Kennedy grew up mostly a city-girl coasthopping from Seattle to rural Pennsylvania, Miami and back to Seattle. She currently resides on the banks of the Snoqualmie River in the scenic Cascade Mountains. Her heart has found its home.
