I was feeling the Monday blues this morning. I’ve been pushing hard on a writing deadline and was feeling a little burnout. But a lively visit from a couple Stellar’s Jays turned my blues to a fabulous shade of beautiful.
I’m naming each day this year as a reminder that every day has its special shade of wonderful. Today is: The Blues

Left brain, right brain, I can't decide. After many years of successful visual arts pursuits, I'm working on my other creative inclinations. For the past 8 years, writing has been my second full time job, and it's worth every sleepless night.
Sheri J. Kennedy grew up mostly a city-girl coasthopping from Seattle to rural Pennsylvania, Miami and back to Seattle. She currently resides on the banks of the Snoqualmie River in the scenic Cascade Mountains. Her heart has found its home.
I have never seen a Stellar’s Jay before. Wonderful! What a fabulous shade of blue.

They are the common type of Jay to see at this elevation in this part of the US. They prefer the mountainous areas, and I suspect, the evergreens. I love the contrast of the dark feathers with the bright blue, although I also enjoyed the blue and white type that we had in the southern states where I grew up. What fun to get to show you a new type of bird! 🙂
