I got inspired to do this by a recent post on The Shameful Sheep. (Be warned it is a site with a different rating than this one 🙂 ) I decided to document my next day that I was not at work. So here’s my Saturday in photo essay form. I put the descriptions in captions so I wouldn’t get too long winded, although I babbled on in some anyway. Enjoy this peek into what I’m up to besides surviving all the snow along the riverside this year. It seems I’m mostly writing. And yes, I do that everyday!
When I wake up I move the curtains and the Japanese bells…
and look out at the river.
I enjoy the beauty and check the weather to decide what to wear.
Next I showered, which I wasn’t going to photo share until I remembered the shower curtain a friend got me for Christmas…I love it!
I usually eat a fried egg and dry toast with coffee for brekkie, but sometimes on the weekend I put it all together and add syrup for french toast. Yum!
Next I was off to my local dance studio…
attempting to dance my bootie off – literally – at Zumba
I did a quick presto-chango out of my work-out clothes at my nearby office, and scarfed down my pb&j bistro box and latte’ machiato I had stashed there the afternoon before to save time…
…so I could not starve and also make it to my writing class at the library on time.
My friend and co-instructor brought me some Dutch licorice back from her trip by request.
And she and I wanted to visit and catch up after class, but we weren’t hungry…
…so we walked around and did some casual shopping at our local outlet mall.
Here’s me and my author-friend, T.A. Henry at the mall
We heard a horse neigh, whiich was a recording coming from this ride. I love the saddle, and it brought back fun shopping center memories from when I was a kid – just to see this.
The sun had gone by the time we left in the early afternoon, and it was cold.
Perfect weather to motivate my writing time at the coffee shop
I love this place…Pioneer Coffee…and spend many hours here often.
I usually end up where you can see my polka-dot laptop case in the corner.
I had my extra-foam latte’ and biscotti and…
opened up the laptop ready to write
Many people came and went…
And 3.5 hours later I was ready to go. BTW, most of the words on the screen have been changed and a whole section was added in the middle…Lots of editing done!
I arrived home before dark. Yes, I know it’s March, but my husband likes the lights on the carport and won’t let me take them down. I must admit they are cheerful at this dark time of year. Also, though I went many places today, I didn’t show driving because the longest drive was 6 minutes. Most of these places are about 2 to 3 minutes apart.
And when I got home I tried on my newly purchased sweater. It’s blue, but the lighting in my house is yellow and pretty dim, so it’s hard to see it well.
I whipped up a quick shrimp and asparagus penne with help from Bertolli…lol.
And for dessert, a sampling of the licorice mix. Tasty!
Then my husband and I watched…
…Dr. Strange…I loved it! Awesome effects, and the story intrigued me for sure.
Then I edited these ‘day in a life’ photos and my husband set the TV on ‘Say Yes to the Dress’ and went to bed.
When I got sleepy after more than average coffee in a day, I went and got tucked in and read Wilderness Rim until I felt too sleepy to keep my eyes open. The sasquatch is coming on the scene. I can hardly wait to see what happens in tonight’s segment!
