One of the reasons I hadn’t done much photography in the last month is the weather was very dry and the smoke from regional wildfires was obscuring the mountains and making it hard to be outside for long due to air quality. But I did like the softening of the intense summer sun as the smoke created a natural filter. Our morning river scene was gentler with less contrast, and I captured a few photos during breakfast in the unique lighting.

My neighbor does those, and there are a few on the properties to either side of mine. I let her know I like them too, but not on my own property (where she also built some at one point) since I like to see the way that nature arranges and rearranges the stones. When they were on our beach I kept jumping when I caught glimpses of them out the window thinking someone was standing down there. It really changed the peaceful, natural feeling. But I like coming upon them on beaches or along rivers when hiking. They are beautiful in photos. 🙂

Thanks, Sheila. Glad I could share that feeling with you! It’s exactly how I would describe sitting there that morning.
