The Light Returns!

I decided to add this shot of the store where I shop for groceries with the post of the return of light, because in many ways it’s equally extraordinary to me.  I can’t believe how beautiful Mt. Si  is…a true light in my life.  April 27, 2012

When I got off work last night it was still light outside!  My spirit soared!  It may seem a small thing, but in a grey climate the light is a saving grace.  Though I’m surrounded by the beauty of mountains and rivers, the weight of darkness when the year wanes is a burden.  I feel immediate relief at the Winter Solstice, but the day of light after my workday is a new level of liberation.  Each evening I will feel it grow and lighten–literally–my heart!
