Days are short at this time of year where I live, but the light is often extra beautiful. I ran out to catch a photo of this beautiful sunset on Mt. Si a week ago, and decided to save it for today.
Happy Winter Solstice! Happy Holiday Season to you and yours!
Left brain, right brain, I can't decide. After many years of successful visual arts pursuits, I'm working on my other creative inclinations. For the past 8 years, writing has been my second full time job, and it's worth every sleepless night.
Sheri J. Kennedy grew up mostly a city-girl coasthopping from Seattle to rural Pennsylvania, Miami and back to Seattle. She currently resides on the banks of the Snoqualmie River in the scenic Cascade Mountains. Her heart has found its home.
Yes, I can see us slipping down an ever steeper slope, but there’s some hope to ease things if all of us do the best that we can on making informed decisions and being truly kind to each other and the natural world rather than consuming everything at breakneck speed. Cheers, my friend!
Wow…so wanderful!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.🎄🥂

Knock on wood, Sheri, these are extreme times. Today Rt. 20 just east of Fidalgo Island flooded, with both westbound lanes closed briefly (I think) and later, just one lane open westbound. I’ve never seen that but I haven’t been here very long.
A friend linked to a very good article about the challenges ahead, an article that isn’t fun reading but at least attempts to be more clear than a lot of others. Hope the link works –
